Thanks for uploading File:Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

Permission for images on Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr page I saw the warning about images on my draft Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr page and noted that I had seven days to correct. Mr. Brunelle sent an email to permissions-commons@wikimedia.org this morning (7-4-21) giving his permission, and so I attached a tag to the Brunelle page. The response posted to my page refers to a 40-day backlog. Due to notice about that 40 day backlog, I am posting this note to draw attention to the permission that has been sent within the seven day window, in order to keep the images and/or page from being deleted.

I do not have ticket number, or OTRS assigned agent yet. There is a message now posted to my draft Brunelle page

Thanks for uploading File:Robert Waldo Brunelle Jr.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

Hello!. You should always try to categorize your uploaded media in a more accurate category. In this case Category:Public health physicians from the United States. Before upload a media, you should browse by categories to determine the most convenient one/s (or create a new category). Thanks. Jmarchn (talk) 21:35, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jmarchn - thanks for your interest in my draft - I'm hoping it makes it to the goal line of being added to wikipedia! Thanks for the thoughts about categories - that's the next thing I'll take a look at fine tuning. User:ProfessorKaiFlai 22:03, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Physicians who practiced in the Spann Medical Office.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Thank you - I just put myself 'ProfessorKaiFlai' as the source of the image, as it is my own work. I no longer have the phone that I used to take the original photograph. I will try to see if I have a better version of the image. But hopefully my putting myself as the source will solve the immediate issue. Pay attention to copyright
File:Cyril O. Spann Medical Office historical marker.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added may soon be deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please replace the copyvio tag with {{subst:OP}} and have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you disagree that the file is a copyright violation for any other reason, please replace the copyvio tag with a regular deletion request.

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Information icon Welcome to Wikimedia Commons. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the project, one or more of your file uploads had missing or false information regarding its source and copyright status. Please note that Wikimedia Commons takes copyright rules and infringement very seriously. Files may only be uploaded and included if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our licensing policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. Files that fail to meet those conditions may be deleted, and users who fail to meet them may be blocked. Please follow our first steps, if you haven't already. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the Village Pump copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 15:31, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There has been some misunderstanding about *how* to upload images to the page, as a first timer. I appreciate the corrections and am following them. This image is a work by me and is NOT a violation. The image is on the HMDB page because I submitted it. The image is actually still on my old phone. I have two phones - I messaged the picture to my new phone, which is easier to use, and used my phone to email the image to myself. Then I could use my laptop to save the file and upload it to wikipedia commons.

I am not able to upload the images directly from my phone because I cannot see the *insert* tab on either phone.

Please let me know if there is anything else that needs to be done to clear this up. User:ProfessorKaiFlai 15:35, 5 July 2021 (UTC)

Please login. If either of those phones runs Android, please consider installing COM:APP. See also COM:TALK.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 15:45, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I will look into installing that app and will review the COM:TALK page ProfessorKaiFlai (talk) 15:56, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. We also have Special:Upload, usable from desktop or mobile mode in many browsers, you just need to be prepared with wikitext for the file description page. Direct links to it are mobile and desktop. Also note that your experience may be different if your phone is in landscape or portrait mode. Also, I sometimes transfer stuff between my devices using drafts in Gmail.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 23:58, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
