Champlain Marcil in 1945

In the summer of 2015, the Gatineau team BAnQ undertakes a reference among the 135,425 scanned files from Champlain Marcil of the archives, and then selects and uploads in Wikimedia Commons nearly 200 iconographic archive files that may be of interest for readers and contributors of Wikipedia. A first step is to upload the religious heritage of the province of Quebec, then the team will focus on the images taken on the Ontario side.

In the fall, as part of an educational project of the Université du Québec en Outaouais, Gatineau team BAnQ invites students to scan files, as well as placing images in the Wikipedia articles.

Champlain Marcil

Photographer for Le Droit of 1947-1969, the work of Champlain Marcil reflects the political, social, cultural, religious, sports and socialites who have made the news in Quebec and Ontario Outaouais, mainly 1945-1980 .

Rich 135 425 photographs and divided into six series, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec acquires the Champlain Marcil archives in 1989.
