Description
English: From the text of Gurd's book: "'Tecumseh and General Sir Isaac Brock Reconnoitring.' Opposite, across the river, stands Fort Detroit - formerly Fort Lernoult. To the right, on the Canadian side, is seen the tower of the fortification at Sandwich. This picture represents the Indian Chief and the British General on the river bank discussing the problem of the best crossing, which was made the day following, opposite Spring Wells. This illustration is from the original oil painting, by L. K. Smith."
