Summary
[edit]DescriptionLincolnMemorialMysteryFace.jpg | I took this picture at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC on Sept. 17, 2002. It shows the mystery face carved on the back of the head of the sculpture of Abraham Lincoln. Hopefully a better photographer with a better camera will replace this photo soon, as the profile is very clear if you stand in the right place between the right columns. One of the park rangers showed us the best place to stand after he saw what we were looking for. A friend told me that the face was there. He had heard a rumor that it was Robert E. Lee looking west toward his home. Our helpful ranger told us he doubted that... thought it looked most like President Garfield?. "The truth is out there," so hopefully someone will enlighten the world via Wikipedia. |

It is thought to be the face of Ulysses S. Grant because he was the leader of the souths military and his faces points to his house accross the Potomac River
