Für eine Open-Air-Ausstellung 1973 realisierte Lacroix am Standesamt Aachen die später wieder abgebaute "Farbleiter". Durch Engagement und Spenden vorwiegend aus der Bürgerschaft konnte die "Farbleiter" 2010 - kurz nach dem Tod des Künstlers - nach seinen Entwürfen in dauerhaften Material rekonstruiert werden.
