Summary[edit]
DescriptionInterstate Br from Hayden Island, oblique.jpg |
English: The Interstate Bridge, across the Columbia River, carries the Interstate 5 freeway and connects Portland, Oregon with Vancouver, Washington. This photo, taken from the river's south shore, in Oregon, shows the northernmost one-third of the bridge, where there are vertical-lift sections. The Interstate Bridge is actually two bridges side by side: one built in 1916–17 and now used for northbound traffic only, the other a matching (but slightly wider) one built in 1957–58 and carrying southbound traffic only. |
