Note: In fiscal year 2012, total appropriations to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), HHS’s Office of Inspector General (HHS OIG), and the Department of Justice (DOJ) for HCFAC activities amounted to $486.1 million. This includes the $131.9 million in mandatory

appropriations that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) received to conduct health care fraud and abuse activities and the portion of the DOJ discretionary funding that it allocated to the FBI ($3.4 million).
