Published by the Associated Cartoon Service. Artwork by Edwin F. Brotze.Clark Dale Davis, born Apr. 15, 1858, Bado, Missouri; died Apr. 23, 1933, Laredo, Texas. He attended a Presbyterian college in Stewartsville, Missouri. After college, he decided to become a Methodist minister and was ordained in 1882. He came to Seattle that same year. He was the Seattle Y.M.C.A. city secretary, and worked as a minister for 12 years. He was Secretary for the Board of Regents of the University of Washington, and registrar, and later became interested in the oil & coal business, buying up land in Alaska for the purposes of drilling & mining. He was married to Cleo White with whom he had two children.
