Description
Nederlands: Deze kaart van Oostenrijk werd uitgegeven door Frederik de Wit (1630-1706). Hoewel De Wit de naam heeft dat hij zich vooral bezighield met het kopieeren van kaarten of heruitgeven van oude koperplaten, zijn de bronnen voor deze kaart onbekend. Vermoedelijk stelde De Wit deze kaart samen uit verschillende kaarten die in de tweede helft van de 17de eeuw werden uitgegeven. Mogelijk maakte hij ook gebruik van kaarten die naar aanleiding van de voortdurende oorlogen met het Turkse Rijk werden vervaardigd.
English: This map of Austria was published by Frederik de Wit (1630-1706). Though it is well known that De Wit copied many maps and reissued many old copper plates, the sources of this map are unknown. De Wit probable composed this map from several maps published in the second half of the 17th century. It is possible that he used maps produced during the wars with the Turkish Empire.
